And so it's official.

I'm running the Chicago Marathon. Dear old knees, hips, and impending arthritis, please have mercy on these bones at least until after October 7th, 2018.

I'll be running this race on behalf of an organization I have become quite passionate about over the past year, Back on My Feet. This organization uses the power or running to literally bring members of homeless shelters "back on their feet". Through a running program which requires members to be accountable and wake up at 5am three times a week to run, individuals are able restore their own confidence, strength, and self-esteem, which then better equips them to tackle bigger fish such as job searches, new apartments, and full independence.

Over the course of these next few months I will be sharing my experience both with the organization and the amazing members I've met, as well as sharing personal updates on my journey towards being able to [hopefully] run a full marathon.

I would so so so appreciate if you would take the time to donate to this great cause! Please click link here. If you donate $50 or more, you are granted access to select a song on my Marathon Playlist! You can pick a song that gets you pumped up and you think will also do the trick for me, you can pick a song that is hilariously embarrassing that will make me think of you (which may be just as motivating), or can opt out and let me choose my own song for one of the slots here. Those of you who know how competitive I am and how selective I am about my running playlists know that me relinquishing the power of my own customized playlist is pretty tough for me.

Even if you are unable to donate $50, all contributions big or small are so appreciated and I will be thinking of you all as I struggle through four hours or agony on October 7th. Can't wait!*

*Actually, I can.

130 days til Marathon Day!
